Lightning Warriors Hosts the Mini Maniac Youth Triathlon

The Lightning Warriors Youth Triathlon Team Hosts the Mini Maniac Youth Triathlon for child ages 7-12 with 2 age groups 7-9 with a 100m open water swim on the shore of West Meadow Beach, 2 mile bike on the Closed Historic Trustees Road and a 800 meter run on the Boardwalk. The 10-12 year old age group will complete a 200m open water swim, 4 mile bike and 1 mile run. All finishing on the beach. All athletes will receive a goody back and a collectible shirt. All finishers will earn a special medallion at the finish line. Friends and Family can enjoy post race refreshments.

The Mini Maniac Youth Triathlon was started in 2014 by Kristen Desimone. Kristen says, “It’s a great opportunity for kids to be introduced to the sport of triathlon. highly recommend. great venue and fun for the whole family.”

Jessica Ebenstein, Chairman of the Lightning Warriors suggested expanding this local favorite event to more children of Long Island. The Lighting Warriors obtained the proper permits from the Town of Brookhaven and USA Triathlon Official Sanctions to hold the event on September 7th, 2019.
