Today, we enjoyed a beautiful day on the North Fork of Long Island to race at RaceAwesome’s Jamesport Triathlon. The Lightning Warriors arrived in force with 12 and 6 Coaches racing!

Usually, I watch from the water’s edge, transition, or find some vantage point to coach. However, today, I got to ride the farm land around wine country with Isabella. My job was to act like a shoulder buffer on a slightly busy road. I was huffing to keep up with her! It was great to get out and see many Warriors on the course. The wind was unexpected and felt like a headwind in both directions!

The results:

Matteo and Anthony came in Gold in Silver in the High School Men’s Division. Joe had a stellar performance coming within 46 seconds of the Bronze. On the High School Women’s side Abigail, Riley and Hannah Swept the podium. Under 13 Women, Isabella and Jessica earn Gold and Silver. Elijah was planning to do the sprint, but opted for the aqua bike because of a foot injury. Pranav and Anna earned the gold in the High School Relay. Abbie E. had one of her strongest performances, but missed a turn on the run, she went out again to add another 2 miles of running for the day.

Coaches did incredible with Coach Jodie earning the Overall Gold, John won Gold in his Age Group. Sean and Norman took Gold and Silver respectively. Coach Laura came in 4th in her Age Group. Celeste took Silver in the Aquabike

Thanks for all the parents for coming out before Dawn to bring their Young Warriors, and to our friends who cheered on our Warriors. A special note that Abbie’s dad rode with her!
